After a bit of a break I am back at it sketching and painting! These two paintings I am very excited about and love seeing them together. They are both mounted on wood panel and will be framed with oak. The frames are made by the wonderful Alex Drew.
Intertwined is a portrait of a tree found in Kennebunkport, Maine on a recent trip. I loved adding the little leaves to the tangled branches. This is my favorite piece to date. I keep painting the same tree, becoming more inspired every time I start a new piece. I love and hate when this happens. I know I should be working on other, different paintings, but just can’t seem to get the tree out of my head. So I will keep painting it in different sizes until I am satisfied and can leave it be for a little while.
My reeds piece is just a small 5″x5″ work. I am trying to paint more water and different plants. Trying to broaden my horizons, trying to Branch out more. I love the two together, both Intertwined and Reeds are calming pieces for me. I cannot wait to get them framed!
